St. Louis Newborn Session | What to Expect

Every baby is different, but there is one key ingredient to the perfect newborn session image gallery…..LOVE! Really though, a St. Louis newborn session with Lindsey Tyler Photography is super stress-free. My goal is to capture the love between your new family and the teeny-tiny moments within the first 2 weeks of birth.

Here’s what to expect for your St. Louis Newborn Session:

Prior to your Session

Skip the shopping trips! We’ll set up a consultation to discuss wardrobe options for your entire family and select outfits for moms & children (up to 12 years). Newborn sessions are scheduled for between 5-14 days old, so booking as early in your pregnancy as possible is important.

Being pampered, so you can focus on being a momma

When you arrive for your newborn session, you’ll be able to sit back and relax to have professional hair and makeup done. Traditionally, we keep the look soft and natural for newborn photos…but feel free to express interest in more glam if you prefer!

Relax

Newborn sessions are typically 2 hours. There is a lounge area complete with seating, television, wifi, and stocked with drinks/snacks. (Dads have been known to get a good nap in as well)

Individual Photos of Baby

The first part of the session, I focus on Baby-led posing with minimal styling for a timeless look. There is no pressure to get a specific pose, as every baby is different. The focus will be on capturing baby authentically to preserve all those small details, sleepy snuggles, and sweet moments before they are gone. We can stop during the session anytime for feeding as well. We may also capture sibling photos (especially for young siblings) during this time.

Family & Parent Photos

The second part of the session is focused on the family connection. We will capture individual photos with both mom and dad, as well as group photos as a family. The best gift you can pass o yo your little one is being in these photos together.

Design & Ordering Session

After your Session, we’ll schedule a time for your in-studio design and ordering appointment to choose your final artwork. I’ll walk you through the best ways to display your favorite images in your home with custom wall art designs as well as guide you through the Album design process.

My goal is for your session to be stress-free. I help busy moms plan from start to end, including planning your wardrobe, hair and makeup, all while providing a relaxing photoshoot experience for everyone. After each session, I also help families display their gorgeous memories with tangible artwork for their walls and an album to hold in hand.
